Sweet Blossoms is Here!

Sweet Blossoms is a play on the Ohio Star quilt block where each block forms a big bold blossom shape. The pattern includes 3 sizes, baby, throw, and twin, and instructions for both yardage and a scrappy fat quarter friendly version.

As with all my patterns, you can recolor your own on Quiltink! Quiltink is free for users and they will be adding the ability to make mockups with print fabrics soon!

The cover quilt is the throw size using AGF Pure Solids by Art Gallery Fabrics in Atmospheric, Periwinkle, Cherry Lipgloss, Tigerlily, Sweet Pink, Snow, and Royal Cobalt. The backing is Pastoral Crescendo from the Sonata Collection by Amy Sinibaldi for Art Gallery Fabrics. Lamb and Loom Fabrics and Sewing Arts have kits available for this version in their shops!

The amazing quilting was done by Sarah Campbell of Stitch Mode Quilts. I love sending my quilts to Sarah, she always knows exactly which panto will make each quilt shine and this one was no different!

I made a second version of Sweet Blossoms using a fat quarter bundle of Bella Cotton Lawn by Kristen Balouche for Birch Fabrics that I got at Quiltcon last year. I paired it with AGF denim and Ocean Fog from AGF pure solids for the background.

It felt so good to actually use a fabric I had on hand. I highly recommend going through the fat quarter bundles you have been holding on to and use one to make a Sweet Blossoms quilt 🙂

Meet the Testers

Julie @sewingarts made a scrappy throw size using all Ruby Star Society fabrics. I love how she added different prints in the same colorways.

Elaine @createjoyquilt made this soft and luxurious baby size. She fussy cut the block centers and backed it in minky. It’s also available in her Etsy shop!
