We’ve made all our Lava Blooms blocks and now it’s time to sew them all together! Lay out your blocks as shown in the pattern. If you’re making the scrappy version, play around with your layout until it feels balanced. Try to spread out your blocks so that you don’t have the ones using the same fabric all next to each other.
Matching Points: We’ve covered the trickiest part of this pattern, which is getting all your points to match up, in week six. This also applies when sewing your blocks into rows. Check out the week six blog post if you need a refresher!
Adding Borders: Once you have all your blocks sewn together and seams pressed, it’s time to add our borders! I sew with the border strip on the bottom so I can make sure my block seams lay flat. This also helps prevent your border strip from stretching.
Thank you all so much for joining in! I had a blast sewing along with you and seeing your versions of Lava Blooms come together. I can’t wait to see all the final reveals!
